Analysing Parsing or Rendering Problems

Analyzing Parsing or Rendering Problems

When exporting Confluence pages, Scroll may encounter different types of problems. There might content-related problems if Scroll does not understand the wiki syntax of a page, or some other problem might occur.

The message can have different levels of severity:

  • – Error message let you know about fatal problems. You will not be able to export a document, before fixing the source of the error message.
  • – Warning messages let you know about problems with the wiki syntax (esp. macros). Usually Scroll will still be able to export a document, and will highlight the warnings in the document.
  • – Info messages let you know about events during the analysis if the wiki syntax.

Content-related Problems

Scroll supports wiki syntax as defined by the Authoring Guide. However, especially in existing wiki spaces Scroll may find wiki syntax which it does not completely understand, or even does not support at all.

In order to fix the errors and warning click on the page name in the problem message. The page will be opened in a new browser window and you can edit the page to fix the source of the error or warning message. More details the different error and warning messages are available here: Understanding Common Rendering Problems.

You can define how Scroll handles warnings on the 'Advanced' tab.

Other Problems

Error when starting export: Detected long-running task ('<task name>'). This task has to complete first.

Scroll has detected another long-running task which is currently running. This can be for example another Scroll export or a space export, which has not completed yet. You will have to wait until the other task has been completed.
